Club Captain - Michael Davidson

This season has got off to a great start, with the new coaches being involved and have regularly had more than 30 players at training. The pre-season games and training have been positive and we can hopefully carry that on into the up and coming season.  For the season ahead the 1st XV are aiming for promotion from East Division 2, back up to East Divison 1, and have a more positve season than the last. 
We are always looking for new players to come along to the rugby club. So if you want to come along the training nights are Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

'Numbers at training have been pleasing, ensuring that we have been able to do what we have planned. On this note we urge that everyone continues to keep putting the effort in.Our mini tour to Carlisle was also a success, both on and off the field, with the attitude and effort on the Sunday morning session being first class.The game itself gave us a lot of encouragement as we were against a big well organized team and although under pressure at scrum and breakdown the attitude and morale was positive.This attitude continued at the Lasswade Tournament on Saturday, where we performed to a level above where a lot of people outside of our squad expected us to be. Our performances against teams above us in league position was again encouraging.Colin and I are honest enough to realize that we still have a lot of areas to work on, but the squad have set a benchmark from which to work from.As has been stated from day 1, it is down to the players and what they give that will determine how successful the club will be, so all we can say is keep up the effort and the positive attitude and you will get your rewards.'
