2nd XV Team Captain - Marc Lockhart (2012-2013)

Dalkeith start this season in the newly formed Reserve League East 3B. A mixture of 'local sides' are in this Division, including yearly foes Preston Lodge 3s and Inverleith 2s and new opponents including Livingston 2s and new side Bo'ness, who are competing in a competitive division for the first time.

There's plenty of travelling involved for it being a regional division, but with the prospect of playing some teams for the first time, I'm sure there'll be no lack of enthusiasm as we prepare to lock horns!

Every year the 2XV squad gets more competitve and experienced, which can only be good for the club as a whole. With a few youngsters coming through into the squad, including scrumhalf Andrew Durrand and winger Ross Fenty, the previous 'young team' of the likes of Dario Rae and Davie Howie can now be looked at as being 'experienced'. Along with the training crowd, the 2XV can also look towards elder stalwarts Malcom Cannon, Davie 'Troll' Dalgleish, Stringy Stevenson, Davie Burns etc to name but a few, to help bring the younger guys through, as well as contributing to our successes on the park.

This year, as always, we'll be looking to send out competitive sides on a weekly basis, both Home AND Away, and barring any rotten luck with injuries in the 1XV squad as per last year, can look towards a strong position in the upper reaches of the league!
