Dalkeith RFC

First XV

Club Captain - Paul Clugston -This season has brought about a change in the coaching team, with Michael Goodman and Harry Graham taking over, bringing fresh ideas and a new style of play to the team. The pre-season games and training have been positive from retaining the Moffat 10's trophy to a strong performance at the Lasswade tournament, we can hopefully carry that on into the up and coming season.

After the dissapoitment last year of missing out on promotion on points difference, we are hopeful of going one step further and gaining promotion to East Divison 1. We are also looking to progress into the latter stages of the National Shield. Our 2XV are going from strength to strength and an influx of new players means that we will once again be able to field 2 strong teams every satyurday.

We are always looking for new players to come along to the rugby club. So if you want to come along the training nights are Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm.

Club Coaches - Michael Goodman and Harry Graham Numbers at training have been pleasing, ensuring that we have been able to do what we have planned. On this note we urge that everyone continues to keep putting the effort in. The attitude at the Lasswade Tournament was first class and we performed to a level above where a lot of people outside of our squad expected us to be.We are honest enough to realize that we still have a lot of areas to work on, but the squad have set a benchmark from which to work from. As has been stated from day 1, it is down to the players and what they give that will determine how successful the club will be, so all we can say is keep up the effort and the positive attitude and you will get your rewards.
